AT&T Business

Strongest Southeast/South footprint, premium pricing, deep enterprise feature set. Often the right choice when relationship and coverage matter more than per-Mbps cost.

Who they are

AT&T is one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world and operates the most extensive fiber footprint in the southern US. Their business division sells dedicated fiber, fixed wireless, voice, mobility, and managed services. They tend to lead with relationship-based selling — bundles across mobility + connectivity + IoT are common in mid-market and enterprise deals.

Product lineup

AT&T Dedicated Internet (DIA fiber, symmetrical 25 Mbps to 100 Gbps), AT&T Business Fiber (broadband fiber with shared elements), Voice (Office@Hand UCaaS via RingCentral, SIP Trunking), AT&T Wireless Internet (5G fixed wireless), and a wide range of managed services (managed firewall, SD-WAN, MPLS).

Best for

  • Businesses in Southeast, Texas, California, and other AT&T-heavy markets
  • Operations already on AT&T mobility wanting consolidated billing/support
  • Enterprises needing AT&T's national/global footprint (regulatory, government)
  • Anyone where AT&T is the only fiber provider (more common than people think)

Watch-outs

  • Pricing is typically $50-150/mo higher than Lumen at the same speed tier
  • Direct sales channel is notoriously slow — quotes can take days vs hours from the channel
  • Watch for 'AT&T Business Fiber' (shared) vs 'AT&T Dedicated Internet' (DIA) — they're different products at very different SLA levels

How we get channel pricing on AT&T

AT&T's channel program runs through master agents like Telarus and AVANT. Channel pricing is meaningfully better than direct, and install promos (waived NRC) are seasonally available. AT&T tends to require 36-month terms for the best rates.

FAQ

What's the difference between AT&T Business Fiber and AT&T Dedicated Internet?

Business Fiber is broadband-class fiber with shared elements and best-effort SLA — closer to a premium consumer product. Dedicated Internet (DIA) is true business-grade with 99.99% SLA, dedicated bandwidth, and static IPs. Always confirm which one you're being quoted.

Why is AT&T pricing higher than Lumen?

Footprint and brand premium. AT&T has fiber in places others don't, and the brand commands a premium with enterprise buyers. In markets where both are available, Lumen typically wins on price and ties on SLA.

Can I bundle AT&T mobility with my business internet?

Yes, and there can be real value — single bill, single support, and sometimes meaningful discounts. The bundle math only works if you have meaningful mobile spend. If you're just buying connectivity, the bundle premium often isn't worth it.

What about AT&T Wireless Internet (5G fixed wireless)?

Real product, real speeds (300-800 Mbps in good signal areas). Great as a backup circuit or for locations where fiber isn't available. Don't make it your primary if VoIP is critical — latency varies.
