Frontier Communications is a regional ILEC that's pivoted hard into fiber expansion since emerging from Chapter 11 in 2021. They've been overbuilding aggressively in Texas, California, Florida, and the Northeast. Their fiber product is competitive on price and increasingly competitive on quality.

The new fiber-focused Frontier (since 2021) is meaningfully different from old Frontier. Service quality has improved significantly in fiber markets. Legacy copper service still has reputation issues — avoid those products.
Frontier vs Lumen — which should I choose?
Frontier wins on price in markets where they have fiber. Lumen wins on SLA tightness and IP allocation. For most SMB use cases the savings outweigh the SLA difference. For healthcare/finance, lean Lumen.
