Managed Network Security
From basic managed firewall to full SASE deployments. Right-sized security for any business with an internet connection — which is to say, every business.
What it is
Managed network security is a vendor-operated set of protections sitting between your network and the internet: firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, threat intelligence, DDoS mitigation, web filtering, and increasingly Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) for distributed workforces.
How it works
Vendor deploys appliances (physical or virtual) at your network edge or routes your traffic through their cloud. They monitor 24/7, push policy and signature updates automatically, respond to threats, and provide visibility through a portal. You pay a monthly per-site or per-user fee instead of buying/operating hardware yourself.
Best for
- ✓ Every business connected to the internet (especially SMB and mid-market)
- ✓ Regulated industries: healthcare (HIPAA), finance (PCI-DSS, SOX), legal
- ✓ Distributed workforces using SaaS apps
- ✓ Companies without dedicated security staff
- ✓ Any organization that's experienced an attack and wants real protection
Not ideal for
- ✗ Large enterprises with mature internal security teams (may prefer DIY for control)
- ✗ Organizations with strict data residency requiring fully on-premise deployment
Pricing
Pricing scales with seat count, sites, and feature set. SASE platforms (Cato, Cloudflare One, Zscaler, Netskope) are subscription per user. Managed firewall (Fortinet, Palo Alto, SonicWall) is per-site with hardware included.

FAQ
We're a small business — do we really need this?
Yes. SMB is the most-targeted segment because attackers know larger orgs have better defenses. A 10-person law firm is a high-value target for ransomware. Basic managed firewall is genuinely affordable and dramatically reduces risk.
What's the difference between managed firewall and SASE?
Managed firewall protects a specific location's network perimeter. SASE protects users wherever they are (office, home, coffee shop) by routing their traffic through cloud-based security. SASE is increasingly the right answer for hybrid/remote workforces.
Can I bundle this with my internet service?
Often yes. Many DIA carriers offer managed security as an add-on, and standalone vendors will work with any underlying connectivity. We can quote both bundled and unbundled options.
What about HIPAA / PCI compliance?
Most enterprise managed security vendors will sign BAAs (HIPAA) and have PCI-relevant features. We can route you to vendors that match your specific compliance scope.
